Genesee County Employees Retirement System ("GCERS")

The GCERS is a multiple-employer defined benefit pension plan organized pursuant to Section 12(a) of Act #156, Public Acts of 1851 (MSA 5.333(1); MCL 46.12(a) as amended, State of Michigan.

Participating employer units are:  Genesee County, Genesee County Road Commission, Genesee County Community Mental Health, Genesee County Division of Water & Waste Services, Genesee District Library and the City of Mt. Morris.

Warren Vyvyan was elected by acclamation (no ballot was mailed) to the seat of Retirement Commissioner for a three-year term commencing January 1, 2013.

Effective October 1, 2012, the Michigan state tax rate on your pension benefit decreased from 4.35% to 4.25%.

 

1099-R's were mailed out on Wednesday, January 23, 2013.
