Genesese County Friend of the Court Happenings
In order to provide assistance to our custodial and non-custodial parents and/or legal guardians the Genesee County Friend of the Court reaches out to the communities through various programs including but not limited to:
- Amnesty Programs
- Divorce Orientation
- P.A.C.T (Parents and Children Together)
- Department of Veteran Affairs
- Homeless Shelters
- Local Churches
The best interest of the child is our number one priority and our hope is that through these various programs, parents and legal guardians will have the necessary tools to ensure a bright future for our children.
In family law and public policy, child support (or child maintenance) is an ongoing, periodic payment made by a parent for the financial benefit of a child following the end of a marriage or other relationship. Child maintenance is paid directly or indirectly by an obligor to an obligee for the care and support of children of a relationship that has been terminated, or in some cases never existed. Often the obligor is a non-custodial parent. The obligee is typically a custodial parent, a caregiver, a guardian, or the state.
