Commissioner Patrick F. Gleason District 9
Genesee County Commissioner Patrick “Shorty” Gleason was elected to his first term on the Genesee County Board Commissioners in 2009. Commissioner Gleason represents the citizens of the 9th County Commissioner District. Commissioner Gleason was appointed as the Chairperson of the Public Works Committee and Vice Chairperson of the Finance and Finance/Budget Subcommittee of the Genesee County Board of Commissioners. In addition, he was appointed to the Land Bank Authority, Parks and Recreation Commission and to the City of Davison Finance Authority. Prior to the election to the Genesee County Board of Commissioners, Mr. Gleason served 16 years as a Richfield Township Trustee.
Commissioner Gleason also serves on the Impact Executive Commission of Regional 4, the Michigan Infrastructure and Transportation Association (MITA), Mackinac Bridge Authority, the Michigan Council for Labor and Economic Growth, MIOSHA Construction Safety Standards Commission, and the Michigan State ALF-CIO Executive Board.
Commissioner Gleason is President of the Michigan Building and Construction Trades Council. The council works to strengthen the safety, working conditions and wages of Michigan unionized construction workers. He is a graduate of Davison High School, attended Mott Community College and served apprenticeship in Iron Workers Local 25 from 1974 – 1977.
Commissioner Gleason is married to Rise Gleason and they have three children, Shawn, Shane and Meghan.
