School Board Candidate Information

                                       
School Board Members are elected at the November 6, 2018 General Election.

The filing deadline for school board candidates to file their affidavit of identity was:  July 24, 2018 by 4:00 p.m. 

An individual who wishes to seek a school board position with write-in votes is required to file a "Declaration of Intent" by 4:00 p.m. on Friday, October 26, 2018.  A Declaration of Intent form can be otained at the filing location or on line at

Filing locations:  Genesee County Clerk's Office, all Districts within GISD, except the following:

                             Burton City Clerk - Atherton Schools, Bendle Schools and Bentley Schools
                             Flint City Clerk - Flint Schools

Notification Process      Following the election, school board candidates who are duly elected are notified by the Genesee County Clerk's Office.  Several state laws apply for the process of notification to occur.  Therfore, this link provides information on the notification process.
