School Board Candidate Information
School Board Members are elected at the November 6, 2018 General Election.
The filing deadline for school board candidates to file their affidavit of identity is: July 24, 2018 by 4:00 p.m. However, candidate filings have already begun and we encourage filing as early as possible. Candidates can choose to file nominating petitions or they can pay a $100 non-refundable filing fee along with their Affidavit of Identity.

Nominating Petition Requirements This link shows the number of signatures required for nominating petitions for each of our school districts along with other important information about the filing process.
School Board Offices on the November 2018 Ballot This shows a list of all of the available positions within Mott Community College and all local school districts within Genesee Intermediate School District for the November 6, 2018 General Election. It is extremely important that candidates fill in the office that they are choosing to run for on their Affidavit of Identity (Regular Term or Partial Term, if any). When multiple offices are available within the same school district, the staff of the clerk's office cannot advise candidates which one to fill in.

Notification Process Following the election, school board candidates who are duly elected are notified by the Genesee County Clerk's Office. Several state laws apply for the process of notification to occur. Therfore, this link provides information on the notification process.
