Notification to Winning Precinct Delegate Candidates
The county clerk is required to notify candidates elected to precinct delegate positions of their election within seven days after the primary. The notification will be sent by first class mail. (MCL 168.607; 608; 625) It is estimated that review of the canvasses and creation of the notices for precinct delegate will take a minimum of three days (August 8, 9, and 10). Therefore, notifications will be mailed on August 13 or 14, 2018.
As a secondary means of notification, we will also post an official list of elected delegates to our website (see below).
The Genesee County Clerk’s Office respectfully request that precinct delegate candidates refrain from contacting our office with questions regarding the status of their election. Beginning the day after the election, our office is often inundated with telephone inquiries from delegate candidates wanting to know if they have been elected. Those phone calls slow the process considerably because our staff is busy answering the phone instead of performing the necessary work to get the notices out. This process takes time. Please allow us the time to perform this very important task.
